But its people had to be liberated from their 'brutal dictator' and put on the shining path of democracy. What we are now seeing is the result, along with the bombed out cities and countless dead, of that action. The people are fleeing from the factions who are fighting for control of the countries riches with, we are told today in the BKK Post, 170,000 attempting to cross the Med so far this year. Not all have come from Libya but a significant proportion have. It would seem from this story that those who have left may be as brutal as those who are left behind or have been brutalized by their experiences and they will be accepted into Europe as refugees. What happens from there is up to the imagination and the future to tell, but if their actions on their trip are anything to go by they will have a lot of hate to expend in the not to distant future.
