Thanks advance!
April 19, 201511 yr You should search the forum for other "Philippino lady" thread because the problem could be that they do not let her board, visa or not, and your presence as unmarried foreign partner actually makes it worse. Edited April 19, 201511 yr by paz
April 19, 201511 yr have to agree with Paz, Filipino girls have a lot of difficulties getting to Thailand even with a Visa in their passport, and with you there you could be considered as her Pimp (even though this is definitely not the case here).
April 20, 201511 yr You both can get single entry tourist visas. You could provide financial proof for her to get the visa. For Filipinos there is an addition form to fill out for the visa application. See: http://www.thaiembassymnl.ph/images/stories/file/visa-application-form.pdf
April 20, 201511 yr Just re-enforcing what others have already said...it will be very difficult for her to leave the Philippines no matter if she has a visa for Thailand or not. I have stood in line at the airport in both Manila and Clark and watched the police pull women and some men as well out of departure lines and take them to interview rooms. Most don't make it back. Indignant boyfriends are normally not invited to participate in the interview process.
April 20, 201511 yr On the other hand in Thailand and other places there is many unmarried Philippino staying or working. so there must be a way for them to do it.

The advice you have received here is based on the experience of many . You are under no obligation to take account of this advice and in fact perhaps you would be better doing whatever your friends did.
April 24, 201511 yr On the other hand in Thailand and other places there is many unmarried Philippino staying or working. so there must be a way for them to do it. I believe they have to have documentation showing guarantee of employment and housing. There is a thread about the process somewhere in the TV archives. There are many Filipinos in Thailand working as teachers, medical staff, restaurant service and in the entertainment industry. This is a lot different than a guy who just wants to bring a GF here. The Western nations, in all their hypocritical wisdom put enormous trade pressure on the Philippines as well as Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia to control human trafficing. Requiring proof of legitimate employment, especially for young women is a well meaning response to that. BTW: can anybody explain why the Philippines is correctly spelled with a Ph and two "p's" while Filipinos is correctly spelled with an "F" and one "p"?
April 25, 201511 yr BTW: can anybody explain why the Philippines is correctly spelled with a Ph and two "p's" while Filipinos is correctly spelled with an "F" and one "p"? Blame the Americans. The Philippines is the anglicized name for the Filipinas, the original Spanish name for the islands, named after King Felipe II (Philip II) of Spain. So it basically comes down to the fact that the Spanish and English languages spell "Philip/Felipe" differently. The demonym Filipinos comes from the Spanish. The country name Philippines comes from the English. I would speculate that the reason Philippines contains a doubled-p rather than a single p might have to do with English spelling rules. I image the "Philipines" might be pronounced differently from the way Philippines is pronounced. Presumably the doubled-p allows the pronunciation of Philip to remain unchanged after the addition of the "-ines" suffix. But I'm just guessing about this part.
