Hi Guys,

I have perused through the forum extensively, but have read contradicting information as to what to do.

Thus, I'd like to set the record straight once and for all.

I will be changing employers at the end of the month; my new start date is stipulated as 4th May.

My last date with the current organization is 24th April.

The current organization is a BOI company with whom I have a WP & an 'extension of stay' aka 'visa', both valid until Aug 2016.

Correct me if I'm wrong; once the existing WP is cancelled, the extension of stay aka 'visa' also cancels correct?

This means I would have to apply for a fresh 3-month single-entry non-B at a consulate outside the country, correct?

Thereafter, the WP application with the new company begins after I enter the country with the above non-B correct?

I have heard there are ways by which you don't have to leave the country provided there is coordination between the 2 companies, but is this possible & practically feasible? How does that work?

Thanks guys.

The cooperation you will need is your current employer giving you a termination letter just before you new job starts.

Yout new employer needs to apply for your work permit and obtain a work permit approval letter.

With that approval letter and supporting documents you can apply for a new extension of stay on the same day your current employment ends by showing the termination letter from your current employer.

Then you can get your new work permit after the current one is cancelled.
