Hi

Recently joined this Forum as was recommended from another board. I am a little confused and perhaps there is a member/s who has experienced the process.

I am a frequent vistor to Thailand and during my last trip (there for 3 months) I had an accident and became attached to the girl who looked after me so well for three months. I am back in the UK again but will be back in a few weeks in Pattaya to try and sort out getting her back to UK.

It sounds a bit of a mine field and different people have told me good and bad stories.

I am told that a Fiancee Visa is probably the quickest an easiet way. What I want to do is bring her to UK and if she likes and we get on, then perhaps marriage, if not she is free to go back to Thailand.

Ok, Firstly, are there any forms which I can start to complete online before I go out there?

secondly, is there a standard set of documents required to be produced at the Thai Embassy in Bangkok?

what sort of questions are they likely to ask her at her interview

and how long does it take and can anyone recommend a fast tracking service where I would pay extra?

I am sorry for such a load of questions on my first posting to the Forum, but I am desperatly trying to get organised for me next visit which is likely to be business rather than pleasure with all this to contend with.

Many thanks

First of all you should complete a visa application form which your girlfriend should sign.

You/your girlfriend will need to submit various pieces of supporting documentation which demonstrate that she meets the requirements of the immigration rules (para 290). Basically, your girlfriend will have to show that she can be supported and accommodated without claiming any proscribed benefits, that you have indeed met, that you intend to live together permanently following your marriage, and that you have wedding arrangements in hand.

A fiancée visa entitles the holder to enter the UK for 6 months during which time they are expected to marry. If they don't, then they are free to leave the UK within the 6 months, but, depending upon the reasons why they didn't marry, might find it difficult to subsequently gain another visa. Certainly, if the visa officer has any cause to believe that someone is applying for a fiancée visa without a firm intention to marry, he may well refuse the application.

Cheers,

Scouse.
