Like to hear from you guys how everything is working out with your problems these days. Is medicine or surgery working for you and have your symptoms improved ?

I am now one and have years post turp surgery and it is 100 % normal and I continue to take proscar so that it will not grow back in 5 to ten years. I would say the best thing I did. How is everybody doing and hope your symptoms are as good as mine

Losing YOUR sex drive I don't imagine would bother you much.

Silly statement. Of course losing the sex drive for a man is a concern. Why do you think there's such a huge market for Viagra and the like?

Ah, it seems, we are talking about 2 different things.

You are talking about impotency. I thought we were talking about sex-drive.

So, I can agree, impotency is not good, especially if the sex-drive remains high.

To answers your question:

Why do you think there's such a huge market for Viagra and the like?

= Cos they are impotent, yet still have sex-drive.

Depends on your age. Loss of libido can be a blessing in disguise, especially if you are on a tight budget.

There are plenty of other distractions to enjoy in life.

Thankfully, we now have Analisa to care for our prostates. I shall be making more frequent visits. Cheaper than B-Grad.

They seem quite knowledgeable when you speak to them.

I can go long in this, but you can get info online.

The best solution for prostate and sexual organs problems is right here in Thailand and only from Thailand, and it is a herbal extract called Kwao Krua in Thai. It is know also by its botanical names, Butea Superba for men, and the best products here are from Asoke Community Pharmacy in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and from Nature Answer in the US. The type for women is called Pueraria Mirifica.

By the way.....people from Hill tribes in Thailand, not only live longer, they do not have any idea what it is prostate problems, breast cancer, or sexual organs problems, and after serious investigation about it in 1997, was found that they use to slice and eat roots of Kwao Krua, original from North Thailand. Now it is sold in capsules and creams. Unfortunately there are a lot of fakes products using the name. If you are interested in know more, let me know. I am kind of expert on that, and also had prostate problem before moving to Thailand, and rejecting laser surgery. Not anymore. It is natural and totally safe. Collateral effects? Yes..and may be a problem for some people...Kwao Kua is also an aphrodisiac for men and woman. I am 70..and married with a lot younger Thai. Just perfect!

Need it chopped or shaved, held off for some time now,but been pricing options. Thailand is out through the window,Penang has many hospitals too, about a third of Thailands prices, but India fits the bill, probably laser, but over 100 gramme apparently may have to cut open

.

Anyway I go there for lots more procedures,7 for the price of one Had knee pain now for five months so need MRI,get that done there too Pain started at gym during a session, gave up gym at that point, just got too painful then started swimming 2k in forty minutes, leg felt like it was dropping off ,everything checked over whilst there cancer scans etc.

Not much point being in Thailand,if sex drive gets extinguished

There seems to be a clinical trial done that shows its good for ED, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12937809 but I can't find much on it for prostate care, do you have any links?

I had TURP two years ago and I haven't lost sexual life... TURP is a very safe procedure, the nerves responsible for erection are not affected. The only thing I have lost is the ejaculation , infact the sperm goes to the bladder instead of going out (retrograde ejaculation)...Not a big thing....The orgasm is still the same, nothing's changed .

I suggest anyone with enlargement prostate to consider in having The post-void residual (PVR) urine test wich measures the amount of urine left in the bladder after urination. It is very dangerous if your residual is more than 30 ml. because you can compromise your kidney function .

I had the operation in Switzerland but a friend of mine had it here at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. Very simple operation , you'll be home the next day and you will be fine in two weeks.

Good side of retrograde ejaculation is : no more worries about girls pretending you're the father, and discount on happy ending massage....because "she didn't let you come"....rolleyes.gif

Cheers.

A friend told me that he recommended Pueraria Mirifica here. I introduced the product to him when we met, long ago. I work in the Natural Medicine field.

He need it a "bump"....at that time. 55555

This information is very good, but have many others online, specially in Thai.

Clinical trial of Butea superba, an alternative herbal treatment for erectile dysfunction.

AIM:

To study the effect of Butea superba on erectile dysfunction (ED) in Thai males.

METHODS:

A 3-month randomized double-blind clinical trial was carried out in volunteers with ED, aged 30 years approximately 70 years, to evaluate the therapeutic effect of the crude preparation of Butea superba tubers on ED.

RESULTS:

There was a significant upgrading in 4 of the 5 descriptive evaluations of the IIEF-5 questionnaire. Estimation of the sexual record indicated that 82.4% of the patients exhibited noticeable improvement. Haematology and blood chemistry analysis revealed no apparent change.

CONCLUSION:

The plant preparation appears to improve the erectile function in ED patients without apparent toxicity.

NOTE: Most studies in Thailand were done at the Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai

Pueraria Mirifica only grows in some mountain areas of Thailand and Burma, not in any other part of the world.

This herbal extract contains organic elements that act over the hormonal system, balancing any alteration, specially at old age. It is called the herb of youth because "balancing" means "rejuvenating" the hormonal system. In women in menopause, can even restore menstruation and fertility. That's why also may restore prostate problem in men. At the same time restore libido. But.....do not act after taking it, like Viagra or other stimulants. Results takes time, 3 to 6 months, after the use of the right dosage, about 100 mg/day. Also protect all the sexual organs from cancer. The cream extract preparation of this herb is also used to increase breast size in women, and works!

No contraindications, but is not recommended its use for people under 35 years old, pregnant women, or people under cancer treatments.

It is an amazing product.

With all respect to those suggesting herbs treatment or magic pills, my humble advice is to contact a qualified urologist and follow his therapy to the letter...Don't underestimate your Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

There are no herbs capable of reducing prostate hypertrophy neither improving urine flow. The only stuff able to do that are 1) finasteride , a 5 alpha inhibitor capable to lower the DHT hormone , wich is the one implicated on prostate growht, and 2) alpha-lytic drugs like tamsulosin,alfusozin,terazosin,ecc.ecc. working by relaxing muscles in the prostate and bladder neck. Of course both drugs have side effects and are not so effective in case the hypertrophy is rilevant.
Unfortunately I'm quite expert about it.
Good luck.

From my experience and other people, the medicine will at some point not work with a trip or two to the emergency. The thinking today is to prolong surgery as long as possible with medication. In my case the medicine worked around 70 to 80% with a trip to emergency but had the TURP surgery because I had no choice.( a longer story)

As with most guys, surgery was the last option on my mind, but it may be the best thing you can do for yourself for the long term. It's like getting your normal life back. A good doctor will try to convince you to wait until your symptoms get worse as all surgery comes with risks, but a for profit doctor would be happy to do the surgery anytime.

The surgery is basically painless but it is not a cure and the prostrate will grow back from 5 to 10 years so continuing to take medicine after the surgery means you will be symptom free for a long time. My suggestion is if your medication is working then continue with it but if it is borderline then talk with your urologist.

I totally agree with you about the fact that alpa-lytic drugs (Xatral, omnic, etc.) will not work forever, and prolonging surgery as long as possible is not a good option....It will only damage kindney and bladder.

However it's not sure that prostate will grow back in 5 , 10 years after the surgery. My father is now 84, he had TURP when he was 62 and since then he never gone back to the operating room.

TURP remains the gold standard for treating BPH, other procedure instead, like TULIP,HOLEP,Green Light Laser,PVP,etc.. are safe as TURP (sometime even better) in terms of excessive bleeding and fast recovery BUT they have high re-treatment's rate.

My suggestion is to forget about new procedures...Go for the gold standard TURP.

Do you know whow much your friend paid at BKK Pattaya Hospital?

So I asked him, he said it was 70,000 baht, including after surgery recovery, medication and consulting after the operation.

I suggest you to take a look at Sirikith Hospital in Satahip. Most of the doctors working there are the ones that you find at International or Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. Anything is extremely cheap there and the service is more than acceptable. I went there with a friend of mine who had a cystoscopy from the Urologist working at International Hospital too. Price on International Hosp. was 20,000 baht while he paid just 2,300 baht at Sirikith in Satahip...Procedure and Doctor exactly the same, so I guess TURP operation will be much cheaper in Satahip as well.

Thanks very much for the info. Is the procedure done under a local or general anaesthetic? I must admit "going under the knife" so to speak terrifies me. Never had anything done more serious than an ingrown toenail.

There are 2 kind of anesthesia for this procedure. Epidural and total. I've done epidural, while my friend did total . It's depend of the anesthesiologist. With epidural anest. you remain conscious , just your lower body sleep.

No way you can do TURP with local anesthesia...

Proscar is finasteride, a drug able to decrease the DHT level in the body. DHT is the hormone responsible for Prostate enlargement .

My opinion...

Prostate surgery ONLY if you do not care about losing sexual performance and fertility, because those are very common side effects.

...and the sucking or blowing effect disturbes me greatly, mind when the woman looks and no wetness suppose it might be free
