New triple entry visa after a previous overstay

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Was wondering if anyone on here might be able to give me a little advice for a 37 year old UK citizen.

I overstayed my previous triple entry tourist visa to thailand in 2013 (by 14 months), i paid 20,000bhat on exit and had a small stamp on the passport to say that i had overstayed. I have since been back, for a 2 week break in April last year and had absolutely no issues getting in or out of the country. Now i'm thinking of returning to Thailand but this time for a while longer. Has anyone here had any problems getting a tourist visa (hopefully triple entry) after having a previous overstay? I can give more details on request, I know the rules on overstaying have been increased but I'm sure i'm not blacklisted or anything. Was wondering if anyone has any relevant information!

Cheers!

Just apply for the visa and stop being a "drama Queen"smile.png .

There is no reason for the visa to be refused .

Most embassies and consulates will not even look for the stamp. If they do notice it they will still issue you a visa. Many people with much longer overstays have gotten visas and entered the country.

There have been no changes made to the overstay rules. What immigration proposed was never approved by a higher authority.

Had a much longer overstay and have successfully obtained 2 x double entry tourist visas at Vientiane since last year, the overstay was not an issue. However would advise making sure not to overstay again by even a day.

I suggest you visit a consulate instead of the Embassy. They are more friendly but you have to go in person these days from what I've heard.

Thanks,

not being a 'drama queen', just dont want to go to a consulate/ embassy, and waste money if there was some kind of rule that would stop me re-applying

Cheers

Right then..

If you go to London, they are more interested in your GBP125.00. Don't think it will be an issue.
