bertbobjes
Hi, I am about to close my company, starting tomorrow. I have no idea how long the process takes and i expect to pay around 40000 baht for it. My work permit expires in 2 weeks.I am on a 1 year extension visa. Do i need to extend it during the closing period. Do i need to cancel it? Can i just let it expire? Currently I am the director of the company. Are their any pitfalls during the process? Is their a company that specializes in closures. I have a VAT and currently 10 months in business. Paying VAT for about 6 months now. What about the final tax statement? Any advise appreciated
Mario2008
I would not cancel it and maybe extend it for 3 months. While you are closing down, you are still working and thus need a work permit. I cannot advice as I am not familiar with your questions regarding closing down a company. That might be better asked here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/forum/13-jobs-economy-banking-business-investments/
blackcab
Have you considered selling the company? If all taxes are up to date, and it has VAT registration, a bank account and it supports a work permit then consider it. A change of directors at the DBD, a change of account holders at the bank and a work permit cancellation would be all you need.
