30 day visa question

Featured Replies

I've had my non B visa cancelled today at immigration as I have a new job. I have a copy of the letter (not original) to present to border immigration. My question is can I go to Cambodia and get a 30 days visa, and then (if needed)extend it for a further 30 days at immigration for 1900B. I thought this would be cheaper than an overnighter to Laos? Need to know in next half an hot if possible.

It depends on your nationality if you will get 30 days or 15 days. (G7 country nationals will get 30 days), but both can be extended by 30 days.

You are not allowed to work without a work permit, which you won't get on a visa exempt entry.

What's a visa exempt entry?

The visa exempt entry is the 15 or 30 days you get when you arrive in Thailand without having an actual visa from a Thai consulate.

There is no 30 day visa. A single entry Tourist Visa would give you 60 days extendable by 30 days. You need to get the visa at a Thai embassy or consulate and, if needed, the 30 day extension at an immigrations office in Thailand.

If you simply cross into Thailand by presenting your passport, you will get a 30 day visa exempt entry or 15 days if you are not from a G7 country. No visa, just permission to stay for 15 or 30 days. Either way you can get a 30 day extension of that entry at an immigrations office in Thailand for Baht 1900.

Do Philippine citizens arriving into LOS get 30-day visa exempt? Do they need to show ticket out and/or cash?

Thanks for this Mario. Was unaware this was the case. Actually swapped trains from Mo Chit to Bearing line to catch the van to Laos based on your info. Gotta love TVF.
