Three arrested in Phuket ya ice bust

PHUKET: -- Police yesterday (May 6) arrested two men and woman in possession of a total of 10.65 grams of crystal meth (ya ice). The name of the main supplier is Boy.

Phuket Provincial Police announced the arrest of Arnon Singharat, 24, Petcharat Teychakulpongsakorn, 19, and Krisada Talom, 23, at a press conference held yesterday.

At 1pm yesterday, police first arrested Private Arnon from Trang in the car park of Muangmai Mansion in Rassada with .84 grams of ya ice, drug taking paraphernalia, plastic bags and straws.

Arnon̕s arrest came after police and undercover officers found out he rented a room at Muangmai Mansion to use as a place to use and sell drugs.

Police have been monitored Arnon̕s movements since April, and when they found an opportunity set up a deal to buy ya ice from him.

Arnon scheduled to drop off the ya ice at the car park of Muangmai Mansion for his new client (the police) at 12:30pm. As scheduled he came to the car park where police arrested him with .84 grams of ice.

Police also searched his room and found drug taking paraphernalia, plastic bags and straws.

Arnon told police that he bought the ya ice three times from a girl named Miss Petcharat or Moay. He told police that at 9:30pm on Tuesday (May 5) Petcharat delivered ya ice to him in front of the 7-11 in Baan Bangla, Pa Khlok.

Then, at 5pm yesterday, police went Petcharat̕s rented room on Phu Yai Baan Rd in Talad Yai and arrested her and Krisada in possession of 9.81 grams of ya ice, drug taking paraphernalia, 44 plastic bags, straws and digital scales.

Petcharat said she bought ya ice five times from a man known only as Boy.

“On Tuesday Boy dropped off ya ice to me and told me to pick it up from a rubbish bin near the road just before the Baan Bangla 7-11,” said Petcharat.

Petcharat tried to contact Boy for the police but had no luck.

Arnon, Petcharat and Krisada are being held at at Phuket Provincial Police station where they face being charged with possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell.
