bubba
If you use a Mac, you have no doubt been annoyed with those annoying MacKeeper popups trying to scare you into buying their product. And now a security hole has been identified which could leave users vulnerable to attack. Whatever you do, do NOT install this junk. And if you have, although it is not easy to do, uninstall it now. http://www.macnn.com/articles/15/05/08/contentious.utility.ignored.apple.guidelines.created.zero.day.exploit.128538/
lujanit
MacKeeper has been slammed as garbage in many reviews. Just ignore it.
bubba
Indeed, MacKeeper was destructive garbage well before it also became a security threat. Everything it does can be done either with built-in OS X tools or freeware. Just uninstalling the junk is a challenge in getting rid of it. Coupled with their far ranging fake testimonials and those annoying f*xing adverts and popups all over the place, it must be one of the most despised apps out there, and they do not play well with the OS X developer community. bubba
And now this: A US$2M class action lawsuit against the developers of MacKeeper for "a common deceptive sccheme to trick consumers into purchasing and continuing to use its MacKeeper software, which ultimately fails to deliver the utility that ZeoBit promises." http://www.macnn.com/articles/15/05/28/original.developers.zeobit.under.scrutiny.current.owners.not.yet.sued.128792/
