Family Non Imm. O-A Visa

Featured Replies

Dear Expert of Thaivisa!

I have got a multiple non.imm. O-A visa in Hungary at 28. august of 2014. I entered to Thailand at 05.09.2014. I have got an entry stamp at Suvarnabhumi valid to 04.09.2015. I can not obey the rules to extend my family visa in the local Immigration offices at Thailand, because the lack of financial stock.

If I do a border run before 04.09.2015, can I have an entry stamp valid for a further year? (something same i did earlier, with my simple multiple non.imm.O visa, extending 90 days)

I no want to return Hungary before january of 2017, so I can have got a multiple non.imm. O-A visa in Savannaketh? I can show a Hungarian bank certification of my account.

Any helpful answers and advices are welcomed. Regards Laszlo

If you do a border crossing prior to the O/A visa expiring you will receive a one year permission to stay ! THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE the "enter before " date which printed on the actual visa !

O/A visas can only be obtained from your home country and are not issued for "family" reasons

Any which way you look at your situation you will encounter problems in residing in Thailand after September 2016 if you have still not managed to amass funds totalling 800,000 THB in a Thai bank account or achieve earnings (in the form of pension income) totalling 65,000 THB per month by then. The only alternative to applying for a 1-year extension of stay at your local immigration office would be to travel to Vientiane in PDR Laos and obtain a fresh non-O visa for retirement purposes from the Royal Thai Embassy there. But, as you will see from the Embassy's website at http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/vientiane/en/consular/consular_check/, you would still have to prove finances in exactly the same manner (and for exactly the same amounts) as for an annual extension of stay!

So, unfortunately, it looks like you may have little choice other than to return to Hungary in September 2016 whether you like it or not. It might be possible for you to spin out your stay in LOS for a while after then with the aid of a tourist visa - but I doubt whether this would be possible until February 2017.

What is this? O-A called family-VISA...... Cannot see that you have done your 90 days reports either..... Guess that you are in real deep shit. Wait for Ubonjoe to answer you and clear up this mess. Dont read too much of the other responses here..

You have a multiple o-A visa. If you leave and re-enter Thailand before the expiry date of the visa itself (in August 2015) you get a new 1 year permission to stay.

You cannot have a multiple O-A in Vientiane, you can only get them in your home country.
