Mass Shooting at Idaho Restaurant Leaves 3 Dead, 5 Injured

Featured Replies

Three people were killed and five others were injured after a gunman opened fire outside an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday, police said. The suspected shooter also died in the incident, Twin Falls police spokesperson Joshua Palmer said.

Fatalities And Injuries

It was unclear whether the man police believe carried out the attack was among the three people confirmed dead, Palmer added. The name of the suspect had not been released.

Lynsi Snyder, the president of In-N-Out, said in a statement posted on social media that an employee was among those shot and killed. She said the company would be mourning with the families and praying for them.

Police Response And Scene

Twin Falls police received a call reporting shots fired at the In-and-Out Burger on Blue Lakes Boulevard at 2:29pm on Saturday, according to police.

A large police presence involving multiple agencies responded to the scene, Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said at a news conference on Saturday evening. Hicks described the area around the restaurant as exceptionally chaotic, with potentially hundreds of people nearby due to the restaurant’s location near a busy shopping area.

Authorities kept the area around the In-N-Out and the Twin Falls Visitor Centre closed on Saturday evening while investigators processed the scene. Police said interviews with witnesses were continuing and asked anyone with information to come forward.

Investigation Ongoing

Hicks said a motive for the shooting was still being investigated. He added that police believe there is no longer any threat to the community.

Multiple people were taken to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Centre for treatment, police said.

The FBI said it was aware of the situation and was offering assistance to local law enforcement, an agency spokesman said. The bureau is also asking for anyone with video, audio or still images that may have captured the shooting to submit them.

Officials React

Idaho Governor Brad Little said on social media that he was asking for prayers “as law enforcement and first responders respond to an active shooter situation near In-N-Out”.

Twin Falls is a city of more than 56,000 people, about 128 miles (roughly 206km) southeast of Boise.

NRA 3 USA 0.

Dang, they keep winning. I would dearly love though to see a kindly crazed gunman shoot up an NRA meet, then watch security footage of the halfwits racing for the exits chased by the business end of their precious 2nd.

Like Trump said America truly is number one in the world, when it comes to mass shootings.

America was founded upon violence America adores its violence and these kind of shootings happen more frequently than any other place in the world by such a large margin. It's just another piece of evidence in the thesis that America is going downhill very very quickly.

Merica boys. Merica. Most love it some hate it.

Be interesting to know the perps views…..regardless my condolences to the bereaved families and a speedy recovery for the injured………..and so it goes……sad

Twin Falls, Idaho

I spent a summer with my aunt and uncle there. I almost committed a mass shooting just for something to do.

Did anyone else notice that the shootings started at the Tesla charging stations at the In-n-Out? The videos clearly show him firing into a Tesla windshield. And one of the victims was shot while recharging a company Tesla.

You won't hear that from the MSM, of course. Being of a suspicious nature myself, I wonder if the guy was reacting to Musk recently coming out in favor of the Repubs for 2026 and 2028. Kinda like the lefties burned down Tesla charging stations and dealers, and keyed innumerable Tesla's last time they threw a hissy fit.

It was great to see a good guy with a gun stepping up... Even the MSM are giving him props.

The only video I’ve seen is a citizen getting his rifle out of the trunk of his car and returning fire on the perp.apparently the perp popped a cap in his skull thereby saving us the trouble of a trial.Still curious as to why and who this particular perp is.

America still doesn't get it.

Ban the guns and murders go right down.

Look at all the murder figures in other 'advanced' economies.

It ain't rocket science.

Save the innocent.

The United States has a substantially higher homicide rate than the United Kingdom, Europe, and Japan, making it a distinct statistical outlier among high-income, developed nations. Recent comparative data from Statista's G7 Analysis and Our World in Data shows that the US murder rate is roughly 3 times higher than Europe's average, 5 to 6 times higher than the UK, and nearly 25 times higher than Japan

The United States has a significantly higher rate of gun deaths than Europe and Australia, with a firearm homicide rate roughly 22 to 26 times higher than its peer high-income nations. According to data compiled by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S. averages roughly 13 to 14.6 gun deaths per 100,000 people annually, serving as a stark outlier among developed economies. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Statistical Breakdown per 100,000 People

The vast discrepancy becomes clear when looking at the overall firearm mortality rates (which include homicides, suicides, and accidental deaths): [1, 2, 3, 4]

  • United States: ~14.6 deaths per 100,000 people

  • Australia: ~1.0 death per 100,000 people

  • European Union (Average): ~1.0 to 2.0 deaths per 100,000 people (with heavy concentration in suicides rather than homicides)

  • United Kingdom: ~0.013 deaths per 100,000 people (among the lowest in the world)

Only because he was off duty PoPo. Did force the shooter to leave the area though, and possibly avoid more dead/injured count.

2+1 dead

7 injured, 2 released, 3 stable, 2 critical

(PoPo report, 11 hrs old)

Shooter died from self inflicted shot.

The off duty cop was a different guy. The "citizen" was a 2A "nutjob" who was often ridiculed for carrying a suppressed pistol everywhere he went in public. I suspect a lot of locals won't be ridiculing him any more.

I'm not convinced it was a self inflicted shot. The "citizen" was shooting an unusual 5.7mm round, that may have been mistaken for the 5.56mm round of the shooter's gun. If they (at the scene) just looked at the entrance wound, they may have concluded it was too small for a typical pistol, which would be 9-11mm.

I'd wait for the full investigation... It's hard to shoot yourself with a rifle. Not impossible. Just difficult.

If anyone pulled a gun at an NRA meeting, they would be dropped in less than 3 seconds. Halfwits are those who think guns are the problem instead of the mentally ill carrying guns.

White guy, US citizen, Pencil mustache.

Checks out.

An average of about 120 to 130 people are killed daily with guns in the United States.

Dear Lord, We pray for our Republicans so that they may sacrifice Americans on the altar of the NRA, because we must die for their profits.

Amen. 💰

75 on average are suicides by gun, and most of the rest are gang member, domestic and arguments between known individuals.

I think the "citizen's" name is Jordan Salinas. EVENKEEL posted a photo of him in action above. He doesn't look like an off duty cop, nor is his 5.7mm suppressed pistol a cop gun.

My curiosity centers around the shootings happening among the Tesla Chargers. I wonder if it's de ja vu all over again, now that Musk has re-engaged in politics.

Almost all if not all countries were created by violence at one time or another. Even Canada had the French and England fighting over it's territories.

Nope I go with this, no videos needed. And that is a comparison with developed first world countries, not third world or developing countries.

But I understand that since 21 January 2025 the US is moving away from being a developed country, and towards the same level as Afghanistan and Myanmar, as they are also ruled by a dictator.

Those are your opinions, and they are wrong, as you don't live there and have no clue what living there is about. Loser doesn't belong in this conversation. I've known what's gone on in the US all my 69 years, with daily news, friends, family and many police and border patrol acquaintances. The US has a huge population, which leads to more crimes with guns, capita or not.

I listed Canada for a reason, answering spidermike about him saying America was founded on violence, and that almost all countries also were.

Trump is not a dictator. Just a power hungry politician motivated by that and greed. He'll be gone soon enough, hopefully replaced by one who's smarter and has America average citizens at the forefront, although world trade still needs to continue, with no country taking advantage of America, which is a no brainer but has happened before with other leaders.

Americans have lived with politicians and their bad judgements for centuries, and still come out okay. It's always best to look at your own countries political and power fed mistakes first, as no one's exempt.

I posted the links about world violence. Look at them and you'll see where living is much more dangerous than the US. Like i said, I was there 62 years and never saw any, especially with guns, along with everyone I know, though it does happen there, along with close to everyone on earth at one time or another.

The difference is that we haven't been keying Jaguars, burning up windmills, smashing solar panels, or sabotaging Bud Light delivery trucks or breweries.

Or my favorite, spending years trying to convince people to buy green Tesla's, then keying them and burning up the Tesla chargers and dealerships- in spite of the fact that they're owned predominately by people on your side. Talk about an own goal.
