entering thailand after non b expires is visa exempt permitted

Featured Replies

Will a visa exempt arrival be permitted at BKK or Phuket International ??

I have had Non B for several years and a valid work permit, I have to leave the Kingdom for a short period and will return AFTER my Non-B expires but BEFORE my work permit expires. I only expect to be in Thailand for a few weeks, then I will go to the USA for a month, where I will renew my Non-B multiple entry visa. Then back to Thailand and will enter BEFORE the work permit expires and will have time to renew it..

Thanks for any comments

It is not a problem to get a visa exempt entry after having any visa.

But you will not be able to legally work with a visa exempt entry.

You can get a multiple entry non-b in Penang but it seems you probably do not have the 8 months remaining on your work permit required to get it.

Edit: If you have enough time left on your current entry you could get a re-entry permit to keep it valid when you return. Or you could make a trip out and back before your visa expires to get a new entry and get a re-entry permit for it.

Yes, you can re-enter on a visa exempt entry but would not be allowed to work without a new non-B visa.
