Vogele123
Can you really imagine Google setting off driverless cars in the UK? Can you imagine that these things will make it 100 metres before someone steals it or destroys it? Imagine a car with no driver running around in the West End of Newcastle or any of the cities in the UK? It won't get far. The mentality of the people in these areas will be to destroy it or steal it - the car will be on sale on Auto Trader before it has covered a half mile. The local "Youth" will probably brick it's windows in before it gets to the bottom of the road - they have no idea about the feral mentality in many British cities. It is the same as if you introduced a "Bum Gun" in the U.K - some retard would smear the handle with shit! They simply are a lost cause. Look at the UK these days, 9K Pounds for a year at University, and they are slopping out nothing but courses in "Humanities" "Sociology" "Psychology" there is nothing there for Engineering, and real skills, a country overpopulated by 65 million psychyatrists and social workers, and another million do gooding libtards with absolutely no skills to offer humanity. 4 year degree in uselessness = 36K....what a waste! ukrules
They may be driverless cars but there will still be people inside them, It's not like they will be driving around on their own like drones on wheels. I also imagine it will need some kind of key.
Vogele123
Has been used in uk no reports of damage theft. I'd love to see how long one would last around the Bigg Market on a Friday or Saturday night! The damn thing would be in the Tyne in half an hour, or riding round the streets with 20 people riding on the roof! It is like the Sinclair project, totally misunderstood and a definite fail, marketed the wrong way by people that have no idea about human behavior - WRECK IT.......THEY WILL! HeijoshinCool
On the other hand, it would be a significant improvement in Thailand.

mogandave
I think the biggest hurtle would be the liability. Who's responsible if it hits something? If Google is going to be liable, I'm in.
willyumiii
We need these in Thailand...if they can be programed for Thai style driving!
Jdiddy
I dunno, it just seems a really bad idea Would it be ok if every vehicle was automated? Maybe You cant simply program in every variable that will happen on the roads as every situation may require different methods of avoidance depending on traffic around you, road type ect And also consumer grade electronics fail, the amount of times ive seen "ABS and TC failure" while driving Fords and Holdens..
