YALA: -- Two more home-made bombs exploded in Yala town Saturday morning, causing a fire to a marketplace.

Security officials said nobody was injured in the two explosions which happened first at about 7 am at a furniture house on Siroroj road and a few minutes later near a clinic on the way to the new market.

But the explosion at the furniture house “Raja Furniture” triggered a fire to connected wooden row shop houses.

Firemen rushed to the fire scene but have to work under extreme caution for fear that the southern perpetrators might hide more bombs to harm authorities.

Five shop houses were gutted in the fire before it could be kept under control.

Raja Furniture was earlier on April 6 last year became a bomb target, causing damage to the shop. The second bomb attack left it gutted to the ground.

As the fire was raging at the furniture shop, a second bomb also went off at the toilet of a shop selling gardening equipment and trees near Nong Luck clinic at the old market. But nobody was hurt.

Explosive Ordnances Disposal (EOD) police sealed the area searching for more bombs this morning.

The spate of bomb explosions in the past few days has prompted Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha to order a meeting with top security officials to work out practical measures to prevent more attacks.

He ordered security officials to step up security checks of all vehicles entering southern towns.

The issue was also raised with Malaysian authorities by Thai national police chief.

Security officials said the spate of bomb attacks in Yala was the work of young and newly recruited members of the RKK terrorist group.

To do what? Oh, of course. Since the Thai military has a complete lockdown in the South on local insurgents through its Thung Yang Daeng model, Malaysia must be allowing insurgents a safe haven in Malaysia. So its is the fault of the Malaysian government that Thailand cannot stop the insurgency. wai2.gif
