Obtaining Non-Immigrant B at Kuala Lumpur as a Tourist

Featured Replies

Hopefully someone could help me with the rules of Thai Embassy. I am an Indian citizen, but currently a resident of UAE. I just quit my job in the UAE and on a holiday in Malaysia. I used to work in Thailand before, and when I tried to join the same employer this time, they agreed to offer me a job. They are ready to send me the paperworks required for obtaining a visa, but it seems I cannot apply for a Non-Immigrant B visa in Kuala Lumpur while being on a tourist visa here. The embassy seems to expect a residence in Malaysia for at least six months.

Could someone please advice if my understanding is correct? If they won't provide me a visa in KL, I should either travel back to the UAE or India to get one.

Thanks for your time.

You will not be able to get a visa in KL or any other nearby country. You will have to go to India or the UAE if you still have legal residence there.

It would seem that KL will not issues visa(s) to Indian nationals and a whole list of other nationalities unless those people are resident in Malaysia .

If you are sure that you still retain UAE resident status then obtaining a visa there may be possible.

A return to India would enable a visa to be obtained.

Thank you. I'm still a valid resident of the UAE and would be doing it from there.
