Peace has returned to Thailand but the road ahead is still hazy and complex

robblok, yes, the present guys in charge are trying to restore democracy. Democracy, this is when there is an election, with Thaksin and Abhisit competing against each other in a vote.

How much time do we need ? When is the election going to take place ? In ten weeks from now ? In ten months from now ? In ten years from now ? What difference does it make ? It doesn't matter if the Thais are unhappy about it taking a long time.

What does matter, is that America, Europe and Australia demand elections. The longer Thailand does not have elections, the longer it is that the West will drift away from Thailand. And this means more time for China to convert Thailand into a Chinese colony. Is this something that we all agree with ?

I have no idea.. but they should take as long as it takes so we don't get a repeat of the last problems. Because then we end up here again with an other coup and the drifting to China.

But the west has butter on their head they have supported many a dubious goverments far worse then this junta when it suited them.
