Proof of address

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a non immigrant O A Visa. I will be returning to Australia in June and coming back in August ( one way ticket only ). This was my first stay here for 3 months ( just under the 90 day reporting period ). Next time I arrive do I just tell immigration on the arrival form my address again and they will accept that ? I have rented a bungalow but it is in my girlfriends name and written in Thai. Now that I plan to stay long term I'd like some advice on whether to get a Thai licence for driving riding. A more formal way of showing my address etc so that I can report 90 days next time. Thanks

Moved to the Thai visas forum.

No problem on arrival. Just put your address on the arrival card.

What you need for proof of residence will depend upon the office your 90 day report to. If needed the rental agreement in your girlfriends name will be accepted.

A Thai drivers license will not be any help at immigration.

Proof of address, just tried to make appointment at the British embassy, but nothing until mid January on the web site, also tried calling the new immigration office for Ubon but they said it must be done at the British embassy in Bangkok now, so I want to apply for a Thai driving license, is there any other proof of address they will accept when applying for a license?

I'm not back in Thailand until the 16th Dec and would like to get everything in place before they change the driving license laws in January, I already have a UK car and bike license and international driving permit so it should be easy to get the Thai license if I can get proof of address.

thanks for any advice on this...

Go to the tourist police office here in Ubon and they will sign and stamp a form for you to take to the drivers licence office.
