Visa Expiring

Featured Replies

Hi,

I had a work permit last year but I resigned from the job and still had the work permit multiple entry visa.

The Visa is still valid until 24th May.

When I flew in to Thailand 28th of April they only gave me until 24th May as the visa expires then. So I entered on the visa and not the 30 days I would get without the visa on my UK Passport.

My question is,

I have to leave Thailand on the 24th (when visa expires) but I want to just come back in with that visa expired and not using it so I get 30 days.

Does that mean I can leave and return on the 24th (like a border run service same day by land)

Or will it be better to fly out of Thailand and return on the 25th?

Thanks in advance!

Shug

There is no work permit visa

It would help if you were able to state, accurately, exactly what is in the passport

If you really had a valid multi -entry visa when you arrived you would have been given a 90 day permission to stay ...........................

What are you wishing to achieve ?

Just a few days holiday in Thailand or something else ?

Some border crossings ask for a termination letter from your employer when leaving the country after having an extension based upon working. At most you would not have a problem.

You can get a 30 day visa exempt entry at a border crossing since you are not on one now.

Hi, sorry, Non-Imm B Visa. Multiple Entry.

Basically I worked in Thailand but left the job in October.
Now I work in Europe 2 month on/off.

The visa expires 24th of May.

I returned to Thailand 28th April. So they assume I still work here I guess.

I returned my work permit to them.. but I guess they never informed immigration.

I just want to achieve another 30 days and a hassle free border crossing.

So I'm thinking if I just return on the 25th they wont care as the visa is expired and I'll get my 30 days.

It would just be easier for me to go by land on the 24th and return on 24th but then the visa will technically still be valid?

Thanks

If you have a multiple non-B it does not become invalid with losing your job. You can leave and re-enter on the 24th and get a new 90 days.

When I flew in to Thailand 28th of April they only gave me until 24th May as the visa expires then.

If they were using the visa, you would/should have been given 90 days permission to stay as long as the visa was valid when you entered. The expiration of the visa does not determine the length of your permission to stay.

Looks like you were given a visa exempt entry??

Goodness knows, immigration in BKK said my stay was valid until the 24th of May.. so now the stamps there and I have to leave. It isn't even 30 days?

I booked a flight to Singapore on 24th anyway, I'll just fly out and return the next day.

The visa is stamped into my passport, with ink I mean, it doesn't actually say what type it is, originally it was the non-imm B. Maybe it changed with the work permit.. I know I sound stupid but the company took care of it all.

Thanks for the help all.

Maybe your current permission to stay is an extension of stay expiring on 24 MAY 2015 and your last entry into Thailand was made with a re-entry permit valid for entry into Thailand until 24 MAY 2015.

If this is the case, making your next entry after 24 MAY 2015 you will no longer have a valid re-entry permit and therefore you will automatically be considered as arriving visa-exempt and get a permission to stay for 30 days.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
