BKK Fashion City to begin its 2nd phase

The Ministry of Industry is ready to push the second phase of Bangkok Fashion City project forward. The ministry has assessed that the project will be initially completed in September next year.

Mr. Pramote Wittayasuk, the Director-General of the Industry Promotion Department and the head of Bangkok Fashion City project, said the project has started three years ago. The final stage of this project is to penetrate the market, and it should be finished in March 2007. The Fiscal Policy Research Institute and Chulalongkorn University have been hired to assess all factors of this project. However, once the assessment of the project’s first phase is done, the Industry Ministry will work on its second phase immediately.

The ministry will ask for the budget to work on the second phase from the government, and the amount should be around 1.5 billion baht.
