retirement extension; 90day report; re-entry permit

Featured Replies

22 july 2014, korat imm office; 1 year visa extension (retirement) granted.

16 oct 2014, 90 day report done.

13 jan 2015, 90 day report done and single re entry permit purchased/stamped in pport.

Date of next 90 day report; as per slip of paper stapled into pport; 12 april 2015.

26 march 2015, leave Thailand.

22 april 2015, arrive Thailand, re entry permit accepted by immigration and stamped USED.

I have the 800,000TB in my Kas bank, and will apply for another 1 year visa extension (retirement) on 24 july 2015.

So, having "missed" my 90 day report at korat imm office on 12 april 2015 as i was not in Thailand,; and have a most recent "admitted until" date of 29 (a couple of added "roll over" days from previous extension) july 2015; before which i will attempt another extension; what should i do wrt 90 day report at korat imm now and/or before attempting next extension?

I'm going to bite the bullet myself and phone korat imm next week; but am curious what people like ubonjoe recon i should do/expect next !

All academic I realise, but still of interest.

Your next 90 day report is due 90 days after 22nd April.

You did not miss anything.

90 day reporting is only required when staying 90 day in a row in the country. Since you left you start the 90 day count again from 22 April. You simply add 89 days to that day as the 22nd April is day one and file your report on that day.

As said. If you left Thailand on 26 march 2015 and did not return until 22 april 2015 no 90 day report was needed.

Your next report is due on 19 August 2015

However best to "check" and make sure ! smile.png

roger that nz; and i know you meant 19 july 2015

thanks all

89 days after 22 April is Monday, 20 July 2015.

With the grace period for report in person you can go on some date between Monday 6 July and Friday 24 July.

http://www.timeanddate.com/date/dateadd.html

Grace period: the wording in the rules is "15 days before" and "7 days after".

A bit misleading as the nominal date is day 1 in this count.

So in your example Monday July 27 would be late (as day 7 would be Sunday July 26, Sundays closed).

Today I called Imm Korat to see what the horses mouth had to say.

Seems all will be ok for me, due to the 7 days extra on the 90 day report period.

I will present my self at Imm Korat on 24th July 2015 (to apply for next 1 year visa extension); with Bank proof of TB800,000 on deposit for 90 days, 92 days after arriving back in Thailand using a re-entry permit associated with a 1 year visa extension (retirement), and 5 days before my existing extension expires on 29th July 2015.

What can possibly go wrongrolleyes.gif

So day 1 of the 7; got that.

Now I need to know what "day 1" of the 90 days for the 800k TB in the bank is.

Is day 1 the day I bring the balance up to more than the 800k TB; or is day 1 the next day; i.e. the first full day of sufficient balance.

I just called korat imm office; but insufficient communications for answer to be obtained.

I'm trying to avoid spending the next week or so repeatedly visiting immigration; and the bank.

But accept I may be unsuccessful in the attempt.

It is 3 months not 90 days. There is no day one. For example if you put the money in the bank on April 20th today would be 3 months.

The only correct answer is, of course; whatever the Immigration Officer says it is.

Academic.
