Children and Visas

Featured Replies

Bloody hel_l ! does anyone ever get the feeling that us farangs are not welcome?? Anyway does anybody know what the visa rules are now for kids ? Were a farang family, daddy mummy and 2 kids.We lived in HKT for 2 years until last year.My kids had overstayed by a year when we left as we knew that kids under 14 could overstay without charge(providing the parents had a valid entry stamp) .when we left and returned to shitty england(£2.90 a pint) we had no grief at all with the immigration at BKK airport.

What i like to know is does anyone know if that is still the case? Id heard that its now up to 7 years old.The consulate here doesnt believe me!! but i can promise it was true. Were returning next month and i dont want to waste £150 on visas for them if i dont have to.

If anyone knows for sure please could they let me know Cheers al rav xx

A 6 month visa to the uk is just over 3,000 baht and no making them go to the border 3 times in the middle of it spending more money. that's reserved for the clowns running the thai visa system.

WE ARE NOT WELCOME IN THAILAND but our money is. for 6 months in thailand it costs about 6,000 for the visa plus 8,000 for border clowning. Rip off.

How the thai immigration laugh at how stupid foreigners are. They are laughing so hard at us. How stupid we must seem to them.

Foreigners spend money like it is nothing.

And the tourist visa for the UK is so easy to get, isn’t it? Just walk into the British consulate, fill out a form, and 20 minutes later you walk out with the visa in your passport :o

Not like a tourist visa for Thailand, where you have to return the following day to pick up the visa, or mail your passport to the consulate and get it back only two days later. No comparison at all with the British system! The Thai government should copy the British system; is that what you are trying to say?

They would not have a overstay fine. However they may have a problem getting on the plane in the UK without a visa or return flight ticket in 30 days.
