if people charged with enforcing the law are found to be breaking it ............then (deleted) sack them

This transfer nonsense needs to stop if there is ever going to be an improvement in this country

How can you expect the people to respect the law when those that are employed to enforce it are some of the worst law breakers

Thailand will remain a 3rd world country until they start to make some fundamental changes

Amazing how many of these Royal Thai "Police" are now found to be "corrupt" since the Thaksin government(s) have gone and so has their "protection" ... and they are going quite high up the ladder too ... although not far enough just yet.

Singapore has casinos....not sure if Texas Hold 'Em is an option but shouldn't be hard to google and find out, if you're interested.

Police officers running illegal gambling - transferred, suspected of murder - transferred, drug dealing - transferred, kidnapping and extortion - transferred, not accepting bribes - sacked.

They are orderd to report !

Nothing to say that they are sacked !!

They will get another inactive post !

Mean they will send to another district to teach the officers there,

how they must run and bribe, not to be catched,

Experiance you have to spread up all over the country !

You forgot the secret burning alive of anyone who gets in their way so if I were you I'd say "alleged" in front of everything until the army round them all up, Asset strip them and deport them all to a remote desert island so they can eat each other to survive until there are none left. Sorry, thats not gonna happen, just wishful thinking.

Laos has Casinos, There is one just over the border near Nong Khai. Not sure if they have Live Poker but I would be surprised if they dont. Vientiane is bound to have if that one doesn't.

The lightning transfer pity they couldnt have a response time like that when a crime is being committed so they can catch a criminal or two as most police forces are proud to do, but as most criminals in Thailand are the police or involve the police I dont suppose they need a lightning reaction to catch themselves.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but aren't senior police officers meant to set an example to the junior ranks and uphold the law? And is 'being transferred' a punishment?

Why the <deleted> aren't they stripped of their rank and sent to 'attitude adjustment' courses? Well done the CSD for at least making waves.

There are some good card rooms and casino style poker rooms in several cities in the Phillipines. Just search for them.

Also Macow (sp?) has some really nice poker rooms. But most are high stakes. You won't find an 1/2 tables there.

As for online poker, you can play but you propably will have to make deposits and withdrawls from a country that allows online gambling.

I have a parnter in my home town that will log into my account and make withdrawls for me. Can't do it here because they notice the difference in IP addresses.

Transfer orders out for seven top police officers in Bangkok
Supachai Phettewee
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Seven high-ranking police officers in the capital have been slapped with transfer orders in the wake of an online-gambling scandal.

The transfers of Metropolitan Police Division 5 chief Pol Maj-General Chawalit Prasopsin and his deputy Pol Colonel Jak Jittitham went into effect Tuesday. Under the order, both have now been given inactive posts at the Metropolitan Police Bureau.

The bureau's chief Pol Lt-General Sriwara Rangsipramanakul issued their transfer orders after three South Koreans were arrested on Monday at a condo in Phra Khanong area, which is under their jurisdiction, for allegedly running an online gambling operation.

"The officers will also face investigation," Sriwara said Tuesday, adding that he had also firmly instructed officers under his supervision to never engage in gambling.

Was it just me or did anyone else notice that the miscreants were operating an online betting operation. This does not require their customers to actually be present in order to gamble. If this is the case, it is a little harsh to transfer the cops.

On the other hand, if they were having folk come and use their computer network to gamble online, then they were just silly and the cops should have been in there handing out idiot awards not just collecting tea money.

I think they were running the online gaming from here cause you can play but can't have money but some sites get around it by offering membership so your not betting money but can win money thus not gambling.
