long term visa, an easier option ? maybe

Featured Replies

knowing that a long term visa is not easy for me ( im 47 and married / seperated to thai national ) i cannot yet get retirement visa, im thinking about an ED visa ( i really want to learn the language proper after 14 years of sitting on my ass ) so maybe it is better to get a 1 year visa into cambodia, make sihanoukville my base and then if i want to holiday and go see friends in thailand mostly isaan region then i just take a short journey over border .

sounds viable plus i really like sihanoukville, it has all the things that thailand has to offer , cheap rooms, cheaper beer, and the visa i think is only around 200 dollars per year ( business visa ) correct me if im wrong.

If only separated from your Thai wife and she would be willing to give you signed copies of her house book registry and ID card you could get a multiple entry non-o visa in Savannakhet Laos.

There is also the 5 year Thai elite visa option that costs 500k baht. See: http://www.thailandelite.com/glimpse.php

The Cambodia visa needs to asked about in the Cambodia Visas forum.
