ACM Kongsak checks land rights certificates on Samui Island

Interior Minister Kongsak Wanthana has traveled to Samui Island in Surat Thani Province to inspect the land rights certificates there, and is developing a plan to eliminate the ambiguities of land areas.

ACM Kongsak is checking the land rights certificates on Samui Island from the beginning. The details of the old and new land rights certificates are being compared, with the cooperation from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The ministry shares the same map, and this would clarify the land issues.

As for the case of a businessman who has donated 5,000 rai of land areas, the officials have started the investigation and they are now gathering the evidence. The officials are considering the intention of such donation, and if the land rights certificates are inaccurate, they will have to be revoked immediately.

Meanwhile, there has been an observation that many politicians have possessions of large plots of land on Samui Island. On this issue, the Interior Minister said the investigation will strictly follow the regulations, and he believes that all sides will allow the officials to perform their investigation because landowners do not want to have problems on this regard.
