Dear all,

I'm from China and is in Thailand for holiday on 30 days single entry tourist visa. I would like to know if I can go over to Poipet and come back to thailand?

Yes no problem..........when you return the re-entry visa will protect the date you were given the first time you entered Thailand.

Edit........the tourist visa you were issued will give you up to 60 days stay in Thailand (just incase you were not aware)

Won't he need to get a re-entry permit before he departs Thailand for Poipet? Or, would he simply be a Visa On Arrival when he returned?

Really ? I thought that once you left Thailand, the tourist visa becomes invalid. I mean, let's say he leaves after 20 days, then his single entry tourist visa expires and he can only get in on a Visa on Arrival. Which will only give him 15 days since he's from China, at the cost of 1000 baht.

Re-entry is possible. You can get it either at the airport departure floor in terminal 1 or from the Immigration Bureau in Suanphlu.

But, the main question is how long will you be staying during your return to Bangkok. If you are not going to stay more than 2 weeks on your return trip, taking a visa on arrival is better than the re-entry option.
