Fire, Explosions in CMIS area

Just got word that there is smoke and there were 10 -12 loud bangs or explosions in the CMIS area..... anybody have word about the situation...... I am in KL at the moment and am somewhat concerned.

Hmmm.... just drove past your place about 15 minutes ago on the way home and didn't see anything unusual. No unusual traffic, sirens, etc. Seemed very quiet. Didn't see or smell any smoke...

Got a call from Ms G just a few minutes ago , maybe 10 mins now, and while she was talking to me another couple bangs.....must have been just after you went thru.....

Looks like a drill/evacuation was just held at the school on Kaew Nawarat. There was 3 seperate sources of smoke going up and all extinguished in minutes. No idea what the explosions were.

I was told it was a fire drill at Prince Royals College. CMIS not involved.

They have fire drills in Thailand,is that something new,

safety not a major concern for a lot of things here.

Every year they have a major drill at the govt. complex next to the U.S. consulate... quite a show, explosions, smoke, sirens, helicopters, boats and divers in the river, every ems and body snatcher in town, fire brigades and beaurocrats aplenty... pretty office girls ... group photos all around, then as quickly as it started everybody runs off to lunch.

they do now !

they had one in the impeerial mea ping hotel the other day

much like daoyais description with lots of photo taking and slapping of backs etc going on

they have a drill every year in my building ( and they tel me a few days before )

with fire engines ambulances and loads of police attending but i tell them im going out coz i cant stand seeing the ineptness of it all as its almost as bad as any accident scene here

loads off people wandering aound taking pictures and doing very little

to help little ning and her baby or save her husband somchai

Funny how, when it's drill, all the emergency services arrive promptly. Come a real fire.....
