Looking for a lung specialist/ pulmonologist in Chiang Mai area.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I hope someone can recommend decent lung specialist for consultation. I've tried looking in different places and have found no one.

Thanks in Advance.

Matt

Dr. Atikun Limsukon. He's at Sripat and Bangkok Hospital, and also has a clinic in the evenings. Highly recommended for expertise, friendly manner, and excellent English.

Edit: you can Google him for his clinic info or call either hospital for an appointment.

You'll find my 'road trip' report and recommendation of him here:

Actually I don't have COPD as stated in that post, but I have had a lung lymphoma which was put back in its box by radiotherapy last October. But I do still get some recurring lung infections. 3 years of misdiagnosis (in the first year), correct diagnosis and treatments means that I have consulted pulmonologists in Bangkok, Ubon, Chiang Mai, Leeds (UK) and Cambridge UK. Dr Atikun plus my current specialists at Papworth and Adenbrookes hospitals in Cambridge have been head and shoulders above the rest.

[Posted from my bed at Papworth Hospital - sounds dramatic - actually its a bit of a doss/boondoggle - 2 weeks of intensive IV antibiotic therapy with regular monitoring in an attempt to break the infections cycle. Still hashing - I 'aint dead by a long way yet!]

Thanks very much, Seesip, NancyL and Santisuk or the contact and all the information really much appreciated and very helpful indeed. I am very happy with the doctor and his diagnosis. Keep up the good work and best of luck in hospital Santisuk.

All the best,

Matt

Chiangmai Ram has good Pulmonary Surgeons if you are in Chiang Mai. I had to see them last month and the doctor I saw spoke perfect English.
