even if all this nonsense is reversed next year....

i wonder if the good folks at sunbelt have had a meeting to discuss the possible drop-off in business.

- a lot of companies not being formed.

- a lot of investment/retirement people holding off or going elsewhere.

- a lot of condos not being bought

any folks like to post about what plans they have put on hold or cancelled.

if the Thai pencil pushers really do read this forum,

some indication of how it will adversely affect Thailand might be an unwelcome cold shower.

I, for one, will never buy land through my existing Thai limited company,

(I was considering it before, a humble shack on a humble plot)

LOL ... you were gonna "buy land"?

I assume that Sunbelt's sales will go UP ... people under 50 invest in a small Biz ... with it comes a Work Permit <<unless it is a bar they didn't go through the correct process with .... mark> and a Visa .....

yes,

but it seems that all these limited companies through which a farang can get a work permit are illegal in the way they set up the nominee shareholders.

waiting on the Temasek-Shin corp decision to be released.

even Tesco and Carrefour are possibly operating illegally.

point being,

with the arbitrary nature of enforcements now happening,

anything at all may happen in the future,

so if what you do is not 100% legal, with no qualifications,

then it would be risky.

I'am currently into a development project outside Pattaya after buying land for 100 million bath and have signed contracts with a Thai company for another 100 million. Currently on a non immigrant B visa. Have emailed my Thai lawyer and will post his reply
