BANGKOK, 22 June 2015 (NNT) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested all Thai embassies and consulates to assure foreign countries of Thailand’s tight MERS-CoV prevention measures.

Thai embassies and consulates were urged to use their available channels to explain the Ministry of Public Health’s strict disease-control and prevention, such as the execution of surveillance measures at airports and hospitals, installation of body temperature measurement equipment at all airports, circulation of anti-MERS-CoV guidelines among all airlines operating in risk-prone countries, and distribution of face masks.

The move is expected to convince foreign visitors of the country’s efforts to deal with the situation. The country has so far reported one confirmed case of MERS-CoV. Those in close contact with the patient are immediately quarantined for close monitoring in line with international standards. World Health Organisation also hailed the country for its swift response to the infection.

They want the embassies to do PR work for them.

Why do they need this as recent announcements state, MERS has not affected tourism.

Ya gotta love the repeated contradictions from government bureaucrats.

Let's all wait until after the 14-21 day incubation period is

Over before sending a very premature All Clear Signal

Because Thaiand is so efficient with all their screening,

And I am certain that has come in close contact with this

MERS pt has been located and cleared medically.

Flight crew

All passengers at airport

Immigration Officials

Cab Driver, His Family

Hotel Staff where he stayed

Staff and patients at first hospital

Staff and patients at second hospital

And on and on......

Hey Mr. FM, I think most western countries are very well versed in your efforts with MERS...probably better versed than your own media. If you want the best updates just visit the CDC website Mr. FM.
