Liquorice
I'll be renewing my retirement extension next month and want to apply for a re-entry permit at the same time. Having downloaded the TM8 form, I have a couple of questions. 1. The form starts of with my personal details, name, nationality, DOB then requests Changwat (City) and Country. Underneath it then asks for my present address in Thailand. So is the request for changwat and Country details, relate to my home Country or Thailand? Seems an odd request as I complete my Thai address directly underneath. 2. Leaving and re-entering dates. I'm planning a trip back to the UK around April/ May next year, but don't know the precise dates yet. Can I just put estimated dates?
ubonjoe
1. That changwat and country is for your place of birth. It follows the date, month and year of birth. 2. Many offices allow you to leave the leaving and re-entering dates blank. If not you can put any date you want to there as long as your re-entry date is not after your extension ends. Liquorice
That makes sense Joe, but why not state 'City' as apposed to 'changwat' if it's in reference to your home state. Leaving it blank would probably be my best option. An afterthought was that if I got a multi re-entry permit the form only allows for the details of one planned exit/entry to be completed anyhow. Some of these Immigration forms leave a lot to the imagination.
ubonjoe
Changwat is province which equates to state not city.
Liquorice
In the UK we don't have 'states' as in the USA. I suppose it would be 'County' which is the equivalent of a province. My mate is completing a TM 8 as well. Should be interesting. Nationality.................British DOB..........................?????? changwat..................Kolkata Country.....................India. The mind boggles. ubonjoe
All that is needed to do my 90 reports is the TM47 form and passport. That is all my wife had when she did mine last week.
