So much double standards ) Pro-EU coup in Ukraine totally ok! Freedom nazi fighters overthrown oppressive regime choosing their way toward the EU, fk YEAH. But Thai coup is bad. Even if it keep country stable and resolved political crisis with no solution.

Anti government riots in Libya? Very good, bomb the shit out of them so France can expand their oil business. Saudis beheaded another one hundred in one year? Well... Hosting the US overlords torturing camps? Sure masters! There is a couple of EU countries who have no problems with it.

Double standards are so double. Btw feel free to google how the EU Police deal with riots. The guys who barely could wipe own asses are willing to teach other countries how to resolve their internal deals.

Another post on criticising Thai politics/human rights/economics by outsiders . This time from the EU & UN for a change. Why does the EU stick to solving their own problems.

Prayut is right and should not listen to others meddling in Thai affairs . Like Nuland said f the EU.

If Thailand wants to trade with the rest of the world, receive billions in foreign investments and have yearly millions of tourists visit and spend their hard earned money, then sadly they had better listen and listen good !

EU are not "the rest of the world". Just perfect example how EU assumed they're the center and the whole world rotating around them. Thailand would receive billions in any case if they'll maintain their country stability.

> spend their hard earned money

Im curious how hard compared with the average Thai worker.

The new North Korea/China but without power, laughable realy. The daily mail is still blocked, why is the man so scared

Most blocks and all the system for blocking was made under the Shinawatra governments.

you are not dealing with facts, but only with your own propaganda...

Or do you want to suggest that there is more freedom on the internet today than under the Thai government from 2001 to 2006?

Really, are you never ashamed of yourself? Ever?

An utter lie. The only sites blocked by the previous government was sites that contravened Section 112 and they had no choice in that matter. The Daily mail where blocked after the 2014 coup. All countries have the ability to block sites but this government choose to use this ability to further their political goal. The PTP government blocked sites to protect the monarchy.

I want to ask you was any students arrest by the previous government when they had peaceful protests and was any political opponent arrested for attitude adjustment. Did YS ever throw a bannana at a journo, threated one that they will shot, attempted to educate then to ask correct questions and did she ever talk for 49 minutes every week.

Maybe because the country would be decimated if there were no farangs here. Think how many families would be starving. Thailand would be just like some of the African countries where people are starving to death everyday. The tourism $ and international business keeps this country afloat.

Wishful thinking. Mixed with "We are so important" narrative.

Thailand’s exports, worth approximately USD180 billion per annum, consist primarily of agricultural products, including fish and rice, the latter of which Thailand is the largest exporter of in the world, as well as textiles, rubber, automobiles, jewelry, and computers/electronic appliances. With the seventh lowest unemployment rate in the world, and only 10% of the population living below the poverty line, Thailand is a relatively economically developed nation. However, while one of the premier tourist destinations in the world, the Thai economy only receives around 7% of its GDP from international tourism revenue, a figure which is nonetheless a substantial 550 billion Baht (nearly USD 16 billion).

7% with top tourist exporters - Malaysia, China and Russia. I think 7% is not too much, Thailand could survive without EU tourists far away from Africa levels.

the figure is now estimated at up to 10%......but it is the amount that various sectors of these tourists spend that is also important......for instance the EU vistors way outstay the Chinese and Russians and in y=the long run spend a lot more during their visits.

I very much doubt that these students who protested have the first clue about what they were doing, they were more than likely goaded into it by an outside influence. I'm afraid they deserve everything that comes to them. Hard to hear but true. The law is the law and if you so publicly decide to break it then you should be ready to accept the consequences.

Drivel!
