T.O.T. Servicing Equipment On AIS Tower ?

Noticed T.O.T service men working on an AIS tower in our village whereas before the work was done by men arriving in unmarked vehicles.

Has anyone noticed the same thing in their area. It may just be that T.O.T have been contracted for servicing equipment but I am curious.

T.O.T have their own tower a kilometer up the road.

I hope that means that who ever builds an telco tower, or eyesore in common language, will have to allow other telco companies to use/rent the same tower. Naturally the one, who builds the tower, would have ability to put their tranceivers to the highest position thus allowing the longest coverage.

It's pure stupidity that each company builds it's own towers next to others.

The installation is clearly labeled (sign) to be an AIS property?

I'll check that out later this afternoon. There is no large sign in veiw.

As I said above, T.O.T have their own tower a kilometer up the road.

What I love is when two Government Entities (CAT, TOT) don't do anything together.

They should have acronymed them CAT and DOG.

My guess is that AIS still use TOT's infra to link their towers, and that's what was being worked on.

This small plaque is all I could find and it's placed on the door of what was originally a shipping container.

Indeed, not only AIS logo, but also the Thai text says:

"Advanced Info Service Public Ltd."

"Contact telephone nr. ..."
