Update..........just been watching Pattaya People Channel, three thais have gone into the cop shop with their version of what happened. The 3 are vendors on beach road, they s ay the aussie looked slightly drunk and what he did was side step a puddle in doing so he fell into one of their carts his leg becoming entangled in it. They extracated him but he had damaged the cart consequently the thai wanted recompense.

They say he became "menacing" and one of them picked up an iron bar and struck the aussies leg with it as he was in fear of the aussie attacking him. The aussie then hobbled off and phoned his girlfriend who came and assisted him to hospital.

Upshot is the Thais have been to the hospital to apologise to the aussie..............who has accepted reluctantly the apology.

Always more than one side to every story eh!

they broke his leg , how did he manage to even hobble away with a broken leg.

they also stole a 1 baht gold chain from him , was that returned when they went to apologise?

it sounds like they gave him a sound beating over next to nothing.

he should tell them to go f#ck their apology and try and get the police to press charges for assault against those nasty little toerags.

sounds like the old "Farrang speak me no good" scenario, which we all know is a get out of jail free card in the eyes of the law :D

mugging scumbags, nothing else :o

What difference does it make whether he stepped in a puddle or if you believe the thugs version he accidentally damaged their cart.

The facts are that they then attacked him with an iron bar and broke his arm and leg and stole a gold necklace.

These thugs should be prosecuted and put away before they attack somebody else.

As i said the report was on Pattaya People Channel today, the footage showed the Thais in the cop shop and later at the aussies bedside giving him the old wai bit.

If you have Sophon i suggest you watch it tommorow. ..........feel free to come back and eat humble pie at a later stage. :o

Looks to me like these guys have worked out/been told that the farang they did over is not just another tourist and there might be some comeback for their violent attack on him.

If I were him I'd hang on to those pictures of his assailants. Useful for invites to a little reunion party I'd be planning.

Just watched the report on PPC again looking closely he only has a bandage around his lower leg.........would this suggest his leg maybe wasn't broken?

I would of thought he would of had a cast on?..........maybe the first report was embellished a little.

Before i get jdinasia jumping down my throat again i dont know who was in the right or wrong i/m simply trying to add a bit more info to the original report............isn't that the general idea? :o

(No mention of the gold either way on the report)

If the thai's story is the real one, the four of them still attacked a lone man because they "thought" he would get violent. maybe instead of beating him with the pipe they could have called a cop instead. just my two cents on the subject

thaiflyer1....... for your information not all leg fractures require a cast for treatment.

For example if the Fibula is fractured and not the Tibia then it can be treated with ice packs, rest and light support. :D

Yes...........i was merely responding to Tax's post when he said "they broke his leg how did he manage to even hobble away" , pointing out the fact that his leg might not of been broken as first reported. :D
