DPM insists current global economic crisis yield small effect to Thailand

BANGKOK, 11 July 2015 (NNT) – The Deputy Prime Minister has stated that the Greece debt crisis and China stock meltdown will only cause a minor effect to the Thai economy, noting that the deportation of Uighurs back to China will also not affect the nation's economy.

The Deputy Prime Minister Pridiyathorn Devakula has stated that the Greek debt crisis will only affect the Thai economy minimally, as Thailand has a very small export value to Greece, while the economic crisis in China will only cause a small effect to the Thai stock market, but may affect stock holders in China.

The DPM has said that he is confident that China will recover as the nation had passed and recovered from previous and even more severe issues.

On the Thai export sector's negative export value, the DPM stated that this issue is a culmination of a series of continuous negative values, that Thailand has experienced during the past 5 months.

He insisteds that this problem can be solved with a response plan that focuses on regaining importer's confidence.

Regarding the government’s decision to send the Uighur refugees back to China, the DPM stated that this issue will not impact the Thai economy, while the overall situation will have to be determined based on the government’s explanation.
