shea Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but it seemed the most fitting. It may not even be a representation of any specific Thai symbol, but I have seen it on display in a Muay Thai gym, and it is from a film based in Thailand. Does anybody know if it is a specific symbol in Thai culture, or maybe know what it represents? I think it is visually amazing.
MatteoBassini Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 15 years living in Thailand and this is the first time I've seen it. I think it's just a design.
cmth Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 It is an image from the movie Only God Forgives. It was shot in Bangkok and is about an expat that runs a Muay Thai club. I think that is about it. There may be more, but I am not aware of it.
Stan42 Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Can't connect it to any film, but It looks a lot like a random "cool" symbol, that was designed for advertising purposes. I don't even suspect it's a Lawas design. Some forms of self designed muay Thai symbols: None of these patterns represent any deeper meaning. They just look good.
Beetlejuice Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 It`s from the 2013 movie, Only God Forgives. Type; Only God Forgives 2013, into Google search and all will be revealed. As a symbol of some kind, it means nothing.

I must have fallen asleep while watching it since I still can't recall seeing that symbol.
