We are two 25 year old girls from Sweden.

My dad lives in Chiangmai on a retirement visa, my friend and I want to stay in Thailand for about 10 months, but we don’t really want to be doing any fulltime activities.

My dad recommends that we apply for a non-resident multiple entry visa for 12 months with the reasoning that I want to be close to him and my friend is keeping me company.

Does anyone have any tips about what to say and if its better to apply at the Swedish Thai embassy or at the Danish one?
Also, any tips about anything are helpful

what age are you, this is important as if I remember if you are over 18 then you cannot get a Dependants visa.

Im thinking worst case, we get an education visa. But I would prefer not to be tied down.

why not get multi entry tourist visas?

We have no flight back. I think you need a return ticket for a turist visa.

buy a cheap flight from airasia then to a country nearby but ensure once you get the visa you can get your money back.

For visas there is no age limit to visit family only for an extension of stay is there one and it is 20..

You might be able to get a multiple entry non-o visa to visit your father.but your friend would have no basis to get one.

Looks like you will not get a Non Imm O Visa. Thai family only.

3 Entry Tourist Visa looks the best option.

No need for a return flight ticket with tourist visa, get a triple entry tourist if you can before you come, you can also pick up a double entry tourist visa easily in nearby laos if needed to extend stay longer. read up on using tourist visas before your trip to maximise the use & avoid mistakes. Don't mess about with Ed visas as just hassle & expense & no benefit.
