Coaches to be Banned from Central Pattaya

Featured Replies

what a headline to dream about !

But ................ just think about the financial opportunities to be garnered from finding the alternatives.

Financial opportunities such as .......................

They should make them park on the Eastern side of Sukhumvit and have a Song Taew service to the city.

Keep dreaming.....Things will only get worse.....blink.png MS>

I posted here many years ago that if the powers to be on Phuket were smart they would also ban all big buses from the island. There is heaps of space on the mainland just north of Sarasin Bridge. The buses could be made to park up there and then mini buses and taxis could be used to run people to Patong, Kata, Karon and so on. I am amazed that this strategy has already been implemented. It would be a gravey train for the taxi mafia, and it would do away with their current gripe that they no longer have enough customers because the Chinese tourist companies only use their own buses. It would also be an easy sell, as the buses account for many deaths every year as they speed like racing cars down Thepkrassatri Road and regularly runaway down Patong hill with failed brakes to kill and mame many innocent people.

What are roads for? Don't buses and HGVs pay higher taxes.

Coaches to be banned ? Good idea !!

And people ? cheesy.gif Better idea !!

Why the roads are wide enough on the main roads into and out of central, maybe move a few traders and vehicles that take up some of the lanes which causes the problems and there you have it.

parked buses are often creating congestion too, such as on the stretch of third road leading to bali hai - both sides are painted red and white, but buses park everywhere regardless.

buses should be banned from beach road and second road, and not allowed to park on third road, thappraya and naklua road.

So one coach replaced by someting like 10 Songtaews, good ideasmile.png
