There is heaps of space on the mainland just north of Sarasin Bridge. The buses could be made to park up there and then mini buses and taxis could be used to run people to Patong, Kata, Karon and so on. I am amazed that this strategy has already been implemented. It would be a gravey train for the taxi mafia, and it would do away with their current gripe that they no longer have enough customers because the Chinese tourist companies only use their own buses. It would also be an easy sell, as the buses account for many deaths every year as they speed like racing cars down Thepkrassatri Road and regularly runaway down Patong hill with failed brakes to kill and mame many innocent people.
