Heading to Uttaradit from Si Satchanali on route 102 I wanted to connect to 117 on the other side of 11. Found a 117 near the bus station and followed it in the mistaken belief that it would connect with the 117 I wanted. However, that 117 goes to Tron, and is not on any map I have- just checked on google maps as well, nada.

Eventually found 11 and backtracked to the 117 I wanted. Went left to see if it connected to the other 117, but just disappears into small sois.

So, there are TWO 117s in Uttaradit that have nothing to do with each other, and do not connect in any way. No wonder I go barking when driving in Thailand .

BTW if you are going on the 117 to Nam Phat stop off at the National Park to see the big teak tree. Nice picnic area for lunch.

The 117 to Nam Phat used to be the 1047 as far as I can work out. Nothing like a bit of number changing to confuse the public.

You have also in this book many maps of the main towns in Thailand and if you have a look at Uttaradit map, you cannot find a rd n* 117 .

When at Nam Pat, if you choose to take the road 1339 to Na Muen , Na Noi and Nan; be careful it is a dead end road when arriving at the artificial lake made by Sirikit Dam .

There is an absolute confusion here.

#102 starts eastward from #101 at Pa Ngio (Si Satchanalai?) to Uttaradit.

For some strange reason it ends at the outskirts of U. and continues as #119 a short distance until reaching #11.

(precisely it continues to the city if you go straight, #119 is half right)

No #117 anywhere close.

#117 (alias AH13) goes from Phitsanulok south to Nakhon Sawan (as already written).

1339 I can't find that with Gamin ,Honda, or phone Gps. Is it U/ditt or do I need new specs.

LOL. Definitely a Rd # 117 from Uttaradit to Nam Pat- the signs look new so I think it's just been changed. I think it was 1047 before, but definitely not now. I used it only 3 days ago and noted the signs. It meets up with 1146 at the T junction not long after passing Sirikit Dam and shortly before reaching Nam Pat.

BTW the 117 is a far better road to use than the 1146. Slightly longer, but a lot straighter and in good condition. Takes around the same amount of time to get from Nam Pat to Uttaradit. Goes past the teak forest national park.
