I am traveling from work in libya to bangkok via Dubai. I have just been informed that I can not return to Bangkok at the moment due to the coup. I guess I will have to book into a hotel for the night.

Has anyone any idea how long it will last? I don't fancy being stuck here for more than one night.

Apparentley not. I have been told that no flights are going into Bangkok until further notice. However, I will go and check again, just in case things have changed.

BA is still operating BKK flight as normal, although if your flight is up to 23.59 on 20/09 you could cancel or reschedule to the same or another destination.

If a recall Emirates has 1 flight Dubai-BKK around 3h15 AM. And 2 flights Dubai-BKK around 8h50 AM and 9 AM (one continues to Australia after stop at BKK).

Those 3 have been canceled, or only the first one ? That's strange.

I was scheduled to go to Penang this morning to renew my visa. Is Air Asia flying? Is the embassy open? Are they renewing visa?
