Guys hi,

I am about to consider 'slightly' early retirement.

I have travelled to LOS for many a year - I 'pleasure travel'.

Have met many expats in LOS - Chiang Mai - Phuket - Bangkok - however the general consensus with those to whom I have spoken, is their stay is somewhat uncertain regarding their extended 'retirement'.

Therefore - my questions are ....

1.For those of you who made the decision to retire in LOS, has LOS lived up to your expectations? Why?

2.For those of you who had reasons to depart LOS after retiring there, what were the hurdles which made your decision to return to your original place of departure?

Thanks.

Retirement is completely different to just holidaying here, living here fulltime, you see Thailand in a different light, warts and all. But you have to learn to take the rough with the smooth, it certainly isn't paradise, but i think it's nicer overall here than home.... I left my home country because i didn't want to work anymore, but you no what, the thing i miss most is all my workmates. Sometimes we chat on Facetime, and i miss being there, but i don't want to work there, and i really don't want to live there, although i do still own property there.
