I have a Sony trinitron monitor that occasionally does some weird things like the image snaps and may lock into the yellow spectrum. Is there anywhere that might repair these? It's about 5 years old and bought at Pantip. A plus would be if phone contact could be made to see if the job could be done because lugging the huge thing around is going to be a big job.

If it is already 5 years old then just dump it and get a new one.

CRT monitors are very cheap nowadays and repair is not worthwhile.

IT Mall on RachadaPisek Rd. ( where Lotus Supermarket is)

Third and forth floor has several shops that repair anything,

forth floor has a large accessaries and repair shop called

" Armon " or something that fixes every thing for a very

reasonable fees and in no time too.

Where possible I would use the manufacturers Service facility.

I have had bad experiences with "little repair shops".

They often do not know what they are doing, and will takes days, then

claim spares are not available, when the manufacturers service

centre would have done the job in a few hours.

IME Sony are very good about repairs.

yes DONT use little repair shops!

Sony repair service is very good and fast but also quite costly. If you have problems with a 5yo monitor I would consider a replacement - cheaper in the long run.

It may be better to put the cost of repair towards a new LCD monitor.

They take up much less desk space. :o

I agree with that. I had a decent 19' monitor and it went on the blink. Decided to get an nice new LCD and never looked back. :o
