New housing developments in Korat

Featured Replies

Hi

We are thinking of moving back to Korat to live. We have lived in BKK, on Phuket and in Chiang Mai. The only reason we have steered clear of Korat is the limited supply of modern style homes.

Personally I love the cleaner air in Korat and I like the more laid back feel of the countryside. However my wife likes the modern living component that's hard to find in Korat.

If anyone can enlighten us about real estate development that would be great as we would live to re- consider Korat.

could you please explain what you consider to be a ( modern living component )

I would exercise extreme caution before i bought a house there.

My wifes sister lives there in Korat, another lives in Pak Tong Chai, just south.

They all say the same thing, nam teuam Korat, flooding.

Over the years I have watched all these housing developments spring up on the road from Pak Tong Chai to Korat, make sure you aint buying in a flood plain.

My best advice, buy a piece of land and have a Thai company like Landy build the house you want, rather than some over priced cookie cutter house on a new development.

i live on a nice mooban in korat, never been flooded, only 50houses,apart from the odd snake or 2,no soi dogs, good security, decent style houses, from 2.5million or you can have mine for 6million.very quiet estate.

Don't know what the OP considers "modern style homes". I have been living in my house for 7 years now and consider it a modern home. Also I have never had any flooding at my house. There are MANY developments building my style house which I consider modern.

Here is a photo of my house.

Nice one.

My house is on the West side of Korat, Tambon Bahn Mai.

Three bedroom detached, not sure what the OP means by modern though?

There have been an astonishing amount of new houses been built over the last 6 years. Never had a flooding problem either, just had a drought problem though.

and I live on the north side, Tambon JoHo. And yes they are building new "modern" homes everywhere you look.

Is the driving licence office still in JoHo?

Yes it is but what has that got to do with this topic???

Nothing really HL.

Never mind.

The road leading up towards my place is called Thanon Mukamontri. Although all the new houses have arrived the road has not been improved.
