Miss Universe to sue leaker of fake nude photos

BANGKOK: -- Miss Universe Thailand said she will sue a person who leaked nude photos of a webcam girl who looks a lot like the beauty queen just crowned on Saturday.

Shishaya Kannasut of the pageant committee confirmed yesterday that widely shared nude photos purported to be of 21-year-old Aniporn “Nat” Chaloemburanawong are in fact of another woman, and said the organization is searching for the person who publicized them to defame the new beauty queen, according to TV Pool.

Pageant-obsessed Thais have become inured to frequent scandals which have erupted when the objects of so much scrutiny don’t live up to inhuman social expectations.

Yesterday my Thai girlfriend was watching the video on her phone. I made sure she sent it to me. Sort of soft core playboy style. Nothing hardcore by today's standards. The girl in the video is very beautiful and I think could be famous now.

Not the first time this has happened, Miss Thailand 2005 was threatened with leaking fake photos of her if she left the pageant after a dispute with the owners of the Miss Thailand brand (BEC Tero).

The whole beauty pageant scene is one of exploitation of the girls to satisfy the big corporate sponsors.

From what I know of Thai deflamation laws... She doesn't have to..

The burden is not on the plaintiff but rather on the defendant ...

Defendant would have to prove it is her and that there was some compelling reason for the public good to release the video to the public

This is why so many can use declamation lawsuits as weapons so easily here..

Also why even powerful people don't come out and name names... They say things like ..

A prominent person with the initials of x.y.... And other such nonsense...

A leak is when someone takes a real image or document and leaks it to the press or publishes it on the web.

Since these photos/video are said to be fake, this would not be a leak. Instead, of a case of stealing and publishing private photos, it is a case of impersonation.

ok then....can we see now the real nude photo of that girl to see if she really deserve that miss universe crown.
