This requirement doesn't make any sense. I take it they mean, "When you get the certificate you'll have to send it to us with your application within three months"? After all, you can commit an offence after they've done the processing and it won't show.

I've got a new Scottish enhanced disclosure "this man is not a kiddy fiddler" certificate that my employer paid for, but I just know that this won't be enough - £45 to ACRO.

So what are you saying, you'll now go and touch up a few kids as you have your crim check now? I'm confused.

That's quite offensive, isn't it mate? I wonder if you'd say that if I was right in front of you.

You're easily confused. I'm saying that the words "..with validity of at least three months" are obviously meaningless for anyone who isn't a moron. A certificate saying that you haven't committed a recordable offence up to the date 22/7/2015 doesn't guarantee that you won't commit an offence at any point in the future, does it? Only someone with an IQ of about 65, or someone using English as a third language, thinks that the sentence makes any sense. The only thing it can mean is, "Make your application no later than 90 days from the issue of the certificate and we'll assume that if you've done nothing for 50 years you're unlikely to have done anything in the last three months, and (besides) there has to be some elapse of time between the criminal record check and the application". .

I've just undergone enhanced disclosure because my job demands it. This is a lot better than anything that's going to happen with an ACRO check. But I'm guessing that fact won't cut much ice with Thai bureaucracy.
