2016 Honda Accord to be first car with Android Auto built-in

It was back in June of 2014 that Google first showed off Android Auto, with a variety of car makers saying they’d sign on to support the in-car tech. One of the launch partners was Honda, and despite the fact that company said they’d support the system from the start there’s been no sign of it yet…Today however Honda has announced at an event in Silicon Valley that it will add Android Auto support to its cars in 2016.

Thailand yet to agree trade deal to wipe out tariffs on tech products

A monk and a soldier were killed Saturday morning when militants detonated a powerful roadside bomb while a unit of soldiers was escorting a group of monks to receive alms from local people in Saiburi district of Pattani.

Six others who include soldiers, a monk and civilians were also injured in the bomb attack which happened at 6.30 am near Wat Nimonwatanaram in the municipal area of Saiburi.

PM Prayut confirms continued state efforts to tackle drought

BANGKOK, 26 July 2015 (NNT) - The Prime Minister has assured the people of Thailand, that the government’s determination to tackle the drought crisis in the country is an ongoing process.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said during his weekly TV program “Returning Happiness to the People” that the government has been deeply concerned with the impact of the drought crisis on all parties in the country as officials continue their efforts to tackle the enduring problem.

Gen Prayut stated that the Natural Resources Ministry has already been instructed to find new water sources, including the digging of 511 new groundwater wells, and to install turbine water pumps in many of them.

He said that 415 wells have been dug and around 200,000 cubic meters of water can now be pumped out each day.

In addition, the ministry has installed electric pumps at 202 out of a planned 380 wells, enabling the pumping up of about 30,300 cubic meters of water per day, he added.

The PM went on to say that, if all the wells are completed by the deadline which is the end of July, approximately 350,000 cubic meters of water will be pumped out each day to benefit 100,000 rai of farmland and some 4,000 households.

Secretariat of House of Representatives, organises sea turtle preservation campaign to honour HM the King

BANGKOK, 26 July 2015 (NNT) - The Secretariat of the House of Representatives has organised a special sea turtle preservation campaign to honour His Majesty the King.

The Advisor on Legal Affairs to the Secretariat of the House of Representatives Pannipa Sermsree, recently led a group of around 130 officers, civil servants and staff of the Secretariat to join in the release of sea turtles into the Andaman Sea.

The campaign, which was initiated to mark His Majesty the King’s 88 birthday anniversary on December 5, 2015, took place at the naval base in Phang-nga province.

Ms. Pannipa chaired the event and presented a donation of 50,000 baht for the sea turtle preservation center to the Commander of the naval base Rear Admiral Chainarong Khaowised, who gave a lecture on the importance of sea turtles and the ecological system.

Meanwhile, the Advisor on Foreign Affairs to the Secretariat Pornpith Phetchareon, who chairs the campaign, said that the event is a one of the efforts to promote an awareness of the preservation of natural resources and the environment, which is primarily aimed at honouring His Majesty the King’s dedication to preservation works.
