Air con problems

Featured Replies

My air con fuse trips 3 times before I get uninterrupted A/C

So I called an A/C guy who re gassed the unit and replaced some type of cylindrical unit and the A/C worked great but that was 6 months ago and its started to trip again

Is this a fuse problem or an A/C unit problem and who should I call, an electrician or another A/C repairer?

Suspect he replaced capacitor on air conditioner before so would start with that.

Thanks , it didnt last very long but I suspect it wasnt new

You might want to try a different repair man (it probably did not need gas) - unless leaking (which needs to be found and repaired) they do not normally require adding gas. But normally not hard to get a good air conditioner repairman - unlike a qualified electrician (who are almost always busy).

Yeah will do. It was actually my idea to add gas because there was no cold air blowing, perhaps I have a leak but he didnt mention it...probably because he couldnt speak english biggrin.png

Expect reason for no cold air was compressor not starting outside due to the blown capacitor - so only the fan on inside unit worked. He may not have actually added coolant in that case and just a language issue so may be fine to use again.
