BANGKOK: -- What’s worse? Going hungry but free to chase rats in the street or being locked in a cage and fully fed by a crazy cat lady?

A house owner on Ramintra Road is pleading for help anonymously online after he realized his granny collected a total of 145 cats over the years and the family is suffering to pay THB60,000 each month to feed them all.

From 10 cats, the population of kitties doubled, tripled and so on within five years. Grandma, who has had a hard time caring for them, starting putting them in cages for their own safety. Some opposite-sex kitties share a cell and strike up a prison romance to produce more babies. Some of the cats have lived in a cage their entire life.

The grandson has had it, and he opened Facebook page Cat 145 and put the cats up for adoption and ask for donations.

The cats in that cage look well cared for.

Maybe she needs help with a steralisation program but it does not look like they are treated badly.

In many cities now you must not allow your cats on the street. I would not call her crazy but she has bitten of more than she can handle through her caring.

this is a clear sign of mental disease. just take the granny to the clinic.

Crazy cat ladies seem to be found in all countries

Over 400Baht per month per Cat. My wifey doesn't spend that much for her own food. NO she is not kept in a cage!

I'd say any more than 3 cats makes them a crazy cat lady.

Many of our flight attendants are old maids with herds of them. We call them "Cat Ranchers"
