Photo in front of DTAC logo for Non-B Visa Extension

Featured Replies

The Thai local company that partners with my US company and provides me with immigration services etc, asked me to take a photo at the DTAC office. They asked me to come to DTAC office and wear work clothes. I turned up there, thinking I was going to meet with DTAC people and they had some arrangement. But, it turns out the Thai partner just asked me to stand in front of the DTAC logo in a few places and took a photo of me. The actual DTAC office and employees had no clue who I was.

What is going on here? Is this normal. Or are they passing me off as a DTAC employee to immigration. Is that legal?

Also, now the Thai partner wants me to take 4 photos of me "working in an office". They seem to want just photos of me sitting at a desk, on a computer etc. They told me this on Wednesday, and since Thursday and Friday are a holiday, I dont have an office setting where I can take photos. My appointment at immigration is on Monday at 9 am. What is this requirement? Does Thai immigration need 4 photos of me working in an office to prove that I actually do work?

Thanks for your inputs!

Photos of the work place is often asked for when applying for an extension.

I don't understand the DTAC photos unless they perhaps are a contractor working for them.

Something smells fishy. What immigration services does the Thai local company provide?

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

My US company partners with a global HR company, that contracts a company based in Manila, which contracts with a Thai manpower company. Officially, I am employed by the thai company, they pay my salary, sponsor my work permit and visa etc.

Immigration ask for photos of you stood outside the building you are working for, photos of the outside of the building itself, the company signage and photos of you in your office/work premises with your staff. They want to see real photos rather than staged photos where everyone stands in a line smiling.

I have to supply these every year, nothing untoward there.

The only question is: Are DTAC your employers?
